International Co-operative Day

International Co-operative Day is an annual celebration of the co-operative movement marked on the first Saturday in July since 1923, organised by the International Co-operative Alliance. Since 1995, the day has coincided with the United Nations International Day of Co-operatives.

Each year, the organising institutions agree on a theme for the celebrations. The 2010 theme is "Cooperative Enterprise Empowers Women".
